Ivan Cury featured guest at Nostalgia Expo in Cincinnati

MEET IVAN CURY - OTR actor and more.
At the age of 12 Ivan Cury starred as Bobby Benson on the Old Time Radio show Bobby Benson and the B-bar-Bee Riders. The series ran from 1950 to 1952. After Bobby Benson and the B-bar-Bee Rides came to an end he joined the soap opera "Portia Faces Life" as Portia's son. After high school Ivan went to college after which he became a television director. He worked for WNET for a number of years and also for CBS where he directed The Young a...nd the Restless among other things. Later he moved to Los Angeles where he taught broadcasting at UCLA. and Cal State where he still holds the title of Professor Emeritus.. He has written 3 books about television directing and producing, and one about writing commercials.

In 2002 The Gassman Brothers from SPERDVAC discovered him in Los Angeles, and he's been going to OTR conventions ever since. He is a great actor. He was part of the Showcase convention in Seattle in 2003 and 2004, and when American Radio Theater formed in 2004, he was a founding member. He continues to perform at various Old time radio conventions (SPERDVAC, REPS Showcase) as well as ART's Radio Studio in Seattle and Nostalgia Expo in Cincinnati.

Ivan will be a featured guest and performer at the 2015 Nostalgia Expo in Cincinnati on May 15 and 16.
